Delilah Snell is the owner of Alta Baja Market, a market and cafe celebrating the flavors and makers of California, the American Southwest and Mexico. Her market, located in downtown Santa Ana for over 8 years is the 3rd endeavor she has done in the area. She helped to start the first farmers’ market for Santa Ana in the early 2000’s, operated a large-scale art and crafts festival (250-300 vendors) for almost a decade and owned eco-friendly retail store The Road Less Traveled for 8 years. She is a former Master Preserver publishing Beginners Guide to Preserving in 2021 and has lectured on food sustainability, eco-friendly living, event production, small business practices and food preservation for 15 years. Snell has also consulted and managed event production for KCRW, Eat Real Festival and private events organizing for up to 30,000 people.


Alta Baja Market is Delilah’s love letter to all the things she has done throughout her career, the places she loves, her heritage and her community. The market works with local culinary students, has internships for local youth to gain work experience and does regular fundraising for Frosted Faces – a non-profit that rescues senior dogs throughout Southern California. Delilah and Alta Baja Market was recently awarded the Siete Juntos Fund and in 2021 was the winner of the el Restaurante Independent Mexican Restaurant Owner of the Year award. She also hosts town hall events for her local business community after the devastation it faced with the OCTA Streetcar construction. These events allow business owners/stakeholders to receive information, connect with others and meet with elected officials and city staff.
